(2023 Fellow) A fulltime mother to two boys and a fifth-generation cattle rancher with her husband, Ryan, in Eastern Oregon, Amy Raymond became a silversmith to strike a balance in her life. Before her TCAA fellowship, she trained with Diane Scalese, a Cowgirl Hall of Fame inductee and master engraver, and TCAA bit and spur maker Ernie Marsh. For the past year she has studied under TCAA silversmiths Scott Hardy and Beau Compton, and also received design help from Wilson Capron. The experience, she said, has taught her about manipulating metal and how flow and scrollwork can change a piece from something simple to something magnificent. Now, she is excited about creating each new piece and taking it to the next level.
