Flask and Cigar Holder – #16

Didyoung hand-fabricated this flask with a cigar holder from sterling silver and gold. The flask cap features a bezel-set Kingman turquoise and a rawhide button by TCAA rawhide braider Nate Wald, while on the back of the flask, a floral pattern is overlaid and filigreed with sterling silver and 14K yellow gold. The front of the cigar box features Western bright cut engraving, and a leather insert inside displays an image by Joe Beeler reproduced in pyrography by TCAA emeritus saddlemaker Cary Schwarz. The hinges of the cigar door are adorned with bezel-set diamonds and turquoise.

Didyoung’s time as a working cowboy in Texas and New Mexico instilled in him a deep appreciation for handmade gear. As a result, he was motivated to pursue a career in silversmithing due to his desire for high-quality, artisan-crafted items. Didyoung takes great pleasure in sharing his expertise in Western silversmithing and in helping others who have an interest in learning.
